the Masterpiece! is an accessible, multisensory electronic musical instrument.
What is this?
It’s been developed in classes at Daniel’s Music Foundation - a nonprofit providing free group music classes (and much more) for people with disabilities. The Masterpiece! is enjoyed by seasoned musicians, children, pets, and maybe even plants!
Who is it for?
Can it be used with standard accessibility switches?
Not yet, but soon. An expansion unit to interface with accessibility switches, head / eye / breath tracking devices, and more is currently in the works. All Masterpieces purchased today will be compatible with this expansion unit when it becomes available. Only a simple firmware update will be required.
Is it safe for people with epilepsy?
Each unit is shipped with a special key card to deactivate all lights. If you know that you’ll always want all lights deactivated every time you use it, please reach out. We’ll send you a version of the firmware that keeps the lights turned off.
